The Unrepeatable Hours: Why I Only Photograph Families at Home

You know, there's something really special about capturing life at home. It's not just a job for me—it's kind of a way of thinking. It's my philosophy and it's how I stay true to witnessing your life through my lens.
Over the years, I’ve learned that the most meaningful photographs aren’t taken in fancy places or with perfect backdrops; they come from the simple, everyday moments that tell your family’s story. Imagines of your kids navigating the delightful chaos of breakfast on a school morning, or that cozy corner of your couch where the dog has claimed his territory. This can only ever be captured at home and it's the only backdrop that I feel is truly honest as perfectly imperfect, gaining value over time.
Think about the spontaneous energy in the hallway when your little one takes off on a sprint, or the rituals that define your Sundays at the local hawkers market. Those little slices of life—like crayon masterpieces plastered on your bedroom walls or toy cars racing across the living room rug—capture the essence of who you are. They might feel ordinary to you, but trust me, that’s exactly why I want to photograph them. The ordinary becomes extraordinary when you take a closer look; it’s what you'll cherish in the years to come.
Living in Singapore makes this even more interesting. It’s filled with unique details and vibrant quirks that bring your home to life. The way the light streams through your shutter windows, or how the nearby trees frame your outdoor space, adds character and warmth to your story. These moments are exclusive to your family and they create a deeper connection to the city you call home, more than any outdoor landmark ever could.
I’ve worked with all kinds of families, each with their own unique vibe—big families, quiet ones, blended families, and those filled with beautiful chaos. I’m here for all of it. Families with children facing challenges, single parents navigating life, and heartfelt extended families visiting the grandkids in Singapore. It’s about finding the beauty in everyday life, the little details that create your family’s rhythm.
And let’s be honest, if you’ve spent even a little time in Singapore, you know it can be HOT out there. Keeping it cool, both in temperature and mood, makes for a much better experience. When you’re at home, you control the pace—make a cup of tea (or a gin & tonic), and kids can roam free, popping in and out of the frame whenever they please. It’s in that calm space where genuine moments happen, where the heart of your family truly shines.
Having moved back to Singapore recently myself, I’m falling in love with it all over again. It’s heartwarming to see how families have made their homes here, blending their roots with this vibrant city. I’m here to celebrate those stories; I want to come to you and create something that’s undeniably yours. Years from now, your children are going to want to remember the way life felt in these precious moments, and I’d love to help capture that sentiment for you.
